The Chairman and Executive Director of Okamkpa Conglomerate, Mr. Francis Ajachukwu Nnachi, a Chartered accountant of repute celebrated his 50th birthday by officially commissioning the Okamkpa Oil and Gas, Mart, and Palm Oil Mill. The grand dual event commenced with a heartfelt thanksgiving service at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Ejikewu Parish, Amaoso Edda, where Mr. Nnachi and his family expressed gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon them.
The occasion attracted friends and business associates from across Ebonyi State and beyond. The multimillion-naira facilities, located on the Owutu-Ufueseni Road, were attended by distinguished members of the community, marking the presence of local elites and stakeholders.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Nnachi acknowledged the support and mentorship of the event’s chairman, Professor Douglas Nwaonuma Nnachi. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing community welfare over profit and shared the challenges faced during the establishment of the oil mill, emphasizing his commitment to investing in Edda despite initial negative projections.
“I wanted to bring opportunities back home to my people,” Nnachi said. “It’s our responsibility to invest in our community, as no outsider will do it for us.” He urged the people of Edda to actively participate in the development of their land and expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making his vision a reality.
Professor Nwaonuma remarked on the day’s significance, celebrating both Mr. Nnachi’s milestone birthday and the monumental achievement of establishing such an investment in the village. He acknowledged Mr. Nnachi’s determination as the driving force behind the project, which he deemed a gift to the community.
Community leaders, including His Royal Highness Ama Otuu, traditional ruler of Owutu Edda, and Hon. Sunday Ugwocha, commended Mr. Nnachi for his resilience and urged collective protection of the investment. Others, like Chief Ude Akaji, highlighted the importance of having consistent access to fuel products, while Prince Tochukwu Azubuike blessed Mr. Nnachi for his contributions to both the community and his personal milestone.
The event culminated in an elegant all-white birthday celebration at Mr. Nnachi’s country home, filled with joy, dancing, and communal camaraderie as he marked this significant chapter of his life.
