United States President, Donald Trump, has accused Chinese President Xi Jinping of colluding with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, against the United States.
Trump’s remarks came on Wednesday as Beijing hosted its largest-ever Victory Day parade, a showcase of China’s military strength attended by 26 heads of state, including Putin and Kim.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un as you conspire against the United States of America.”
The former president, however, sought to downplay concerns that closer ties between Russia, China, and North Korea pose a direct threat to Washington. “I have a very good relationship with President Xi, as you know. But China needs us much more than we need them. I don’t see that at all,” Trump stated.
He also reflected on American sacrifices during past conflicts with China, saying: “Many Americans died in China’s quest for Victory and Glory. I hope that they are rightfully Honored and Remembered for their Bravery and Sacrifice!”
In a separate radio interview on Tuesday, Trump insisted he was not worried about an emerging alliance between Moscow and Beijing.
He told the Scott Jennings radio show that the United States possesses “the most powerful military forces in the world” and dismissed the idea of an attack.
“They would never use their military forces against us,” Trump said. “Believe me, that would be the worst thing they could ever do.”
The former president also expressed frustration with Putin, following their recent meeting in Alaska.
“I’m very disappointed in President Putin, I can say that,” he remarked, noting their failure to reach a peace deal on Ukraine.
Trump added that the United States “will be doing something to help people live” in the war-torn country, without elaborating.
Observers viewed the high-profile gathering of Xi, Putin, and Kim in Beijing as a symbolic challenge to Western nations that have largely distanced themselves from the trio.
There have been growing tension between US and China especially after Trump’s imposed tariff on the Chinese.
The United States President has also been seen as against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, although his actions on some occasions have raised questions on his true position on the conflict.
